Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) mengumumkan pembatasan kegiatan usaha tertentu kepada PT Akulaku Finance Indonesia karena perusahaan fintech lending tersebut tidak melaksanakan tindakan pengawasan atas layanan buy now pay laternya (BNPL).
Deputi Komisioner Pengawas Lembaga Pembiayaan, PMV, LKM dan LJK Lainnya OJK Bambang Budiawan mengatakan akibat sanksi ini AkuLaku dilarang melakukan kegiatan usaha penyaluran pembiayaan baik kepada debitur eksisting maupun debitur baru dengan skema PayLater.
“Intinya AFI [Akulaku Finance Indonesia] tidak patuh sama mandatory actionsnya dari OJK,” kata Bambang saat dikonfirmasi CNBC Indonesia, Selasa (24/10/2023).
Selain paylater, Akulaku juga dilarang untuk menyalurkan pembiayaan melalui skema channeling maupun joint financing.
“Selanjutnya, PT Akulaku Finance Indonesia diminta agar melaksanakan tindakan perbaikan sebagaimana dimaksud dalam rencana tindak perbaikan PT Akulaku Finance Indonesia yang telah ditanggapi oleh OJK,” ungkap Bambang, dalam surat pengumuman pada Senin, (23/10/2023).
Sanksi PKU ini telah disampaikan OJK melalui surat bernomor SR-1/PL.1/2023 pada tanggal 05 Oktober 2023.
Terpisah, Presiden Direktur Akulaku Finance Indonesia Efrinal Sinaga mengatakan bahwa saat ini perusahaan yang dia pimpin tengah melakukan penyempurnaan pada produk paylater. Dia berharap dalam waktu dekat layanan tersebut dapat beroperasi kembali.
“Dalam pelaksanaannya, kami berkomitmen untuk dapat memenuhi segala ketentuan yang diatur oleh Otoritas Jasa Keuangan. Kami mengutamakan bisnis kami dijalankan dalam kerangka hukum dan kepatuhan,” katanya.
